The Genis we see today

Genis first appears in the very first scene of ToS. He is with Lloyd, Colette and Raine at the Iselia schoolhouse when the Oracle arrives. Being sneaky the 3 decide to go and see this Oracle against Raine's wishes. Once their little journey that included Desians & a mysterious man named Kratos was over the 3 decided to return to the village. Once Lloyd was about to go home Genis tells him that he'll go with him halfway. Once they were halfway there Genis stops and says this is where he wanted to go (The Iselia Ranch). Lloyd hesitates noting that it is against the rules to go but in the end he goes with Genis.

While there Genis talks to a human named Marble (Whom he has known for a while). The Desians quicly notice that Marble was not working and so Genis & Lloyd escape. While they were watching they see te Desians hurt Marble and Genis attacks them with his magic from far way. The Desians notice and the two quickly flee. The two thinks they got away without any harm but little did they know someone was watching them.

The day after, Colette is ready to leave so Genis says farewell to them. (She's going with Raine and Kratos) Genis and Lloyd (Who missed the moment) goes back to the village only to find it destroyed and up in flames. There, the desians told them that they are extrating revenge on their village because they broke the agreement (They went to see Marble earlier). The group fights Marble (whom has had her keycrest taken off and therefore is a monster) and kills her which saddens Genis deeply. The mayor who was furious at them decides to exile them from the village. We should also note that once Marble was destroyed Genis took her exshpere and wore it himself (which explains why he is so pwoerful later on). Since they have no village to return to they decide to find the others (Colette's group) and accompany them. From then on until the group reaches Tethe'alla Genis' role is reduced significantly.

Once the group arrives in Tethe'alla, Genis finally sees the discrimination half elves faces. (See personality for more info) In the begining he and Raine gets taken away by the scientists who work at Sybak. Later on they are saved by Lloyd and company. Once the group is in the destroyed Tower of Mana every one of the members in the group falls to a trap of somesort. Genis is the last one to leave Lloyd (Everyone goes down one by one but of course they are rescued later by Zelos or Kratos). There, he and Lloyd are being blocked by somesort of a wall and they must both unleash their attack to open it and run through. Genis decides to stay behind and let Lloyd go on. Later on in he along with the rest of the group reunite with Lloyd. While in Tethe'alla he also meets up with a mysterious boy named Mithos. During the latter half of the game Genis realizes how half elves are treated and eventually grows to dislike humans. However, unlike Mithos he does not take revenge.
